Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

What services does Paw House offer?

Paw House provides cage-free dog boarding, daycare, grooming, and dog training. We also offer pet relocation services and a unique Dog Social Club to help pups and their owners connect to the Bangkok dog community. Each service is carefully designed to prioritize the comfort, socialization, and safety of your pets.

Where is Paw House located?

We are located in Sukhumvit Soi 31. A beautiful facility designed with dog-friendly spaces and premium facilities for an enriching experience.

What sets Paw House apart from other dog care facilities?

Paw House is a cage-free environment focused on dog socialization and community building. Our daycare membership program offers unlimited monthly daycare, with pickup and dropoff options, allowing flexibility for busy pet parents. We offer additional services like training, pet relocation, to make caring for your dog easier.

How old does my dog need to be?

We welcome dogs starting at 6 months old, as long as they are fully vaccinated. We want to remind owners that, although we take every precaution, puppies' immune systems are still developing, so there may be a slightly higher risk of illness.

We don’t have an age cap, and we’re happy to accommodate senior dogs! For our older guests, we offer a separate, cozy space to make sure they’re comfortable and relaxed. For dogs over 12 years old, we ask that you give us a bit of extra notice to ensure we’re fully prepared for their stay.

Does my dog need to pass an assessment in order to stay at Paw House?

Yes, we require a trial daycare session before your dog’s boarding stay at Paw House. This session allows us to assess your pup and ensure we’re a good fit for them and that they’ll do well in our environment. It also helps them become familiar with our team and facility, making their boarding stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

Boarding and Daycare

What is cage-free boarding?

At Paw House, cage-free boarding means dogs stay in comfortable, open spaces with other pups instead of being confined to a cage. This approach is designed to promote socialization and reduce stress. Pups are only in their individual bedrooms during feeding times and over night.

How are dogs grouped for daycare and boarding?

We group dogs based on their temperament and size, also factoring in age and neuter status to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe. Each group is supervised by our trained dog handlers.

Can I see where my dog will stay?

Absolutely! We encourage pet parents to tour our facilities and see where their pups will eat, play, and rest. However, please be mindful as we are cage-free and will have free-roaming pups, certain areas will be off-limits to ensure the safety of both our human guests and our pups staying at the facility. Any off-limit areas can be viewed via virtual tours.

What vaccinations are required?

All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations for rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and kennel cough (bordetella). This is to protect all the pets in our care and maintain a healthy environment.

Do you offer packages or memberships for daycare?

Yes! Our daycare membership offers unlimited monthly daycare, with pick-up and drop-off options. We provide flexible scheduling for busy pet parents, with the added benefits of regular socialization for your dog and a lower rate than daily drop-ins.

Dog Training

What types of training courses do you offer?

We offer group classes and private sessions designed with a bootcamp curriculum, complete with modules and key learnings for each. Training covers essential skills and behavior, with a focus on outcomes for both dogs and their owners.

How long are training sessions?

Each session lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. Group courses typically consist of 8–10 sessions, while private classes usually require 4–5 sessions.

Pet Relocation

What is your pet relocation service?

Our pet relocation service assists pet parents in safely transporting their pets across the country or internationally. We handle the logistics, ensuring all documentation and health checks are in order.

Who is eligible for pet relocation services?

We currently serve the Thai market and our services are especially valuable for expat families moving to or from Thailand with their pets.

Policies and Precautions

What if I can’t pick up my dog on time?

If you’re running late, please inform us as soon as possible. We do offer late check-out at a fee that goes directly to our overnight team. If you are unable to check-out your dog within the extended care hours, we ask that they check-out the following morning.

Why do you collect ID or passport pictures from pet owners?

We collect ID/passport pictures as a security measure to protect against potential cases where owners may abandon or fail to pay for services. Your data is handled securely and is only used if necessary.

What are some health and safety measures I need to take before coming to Paw House?

While socializing with other dogs, there is a chance your dog could be exposed to communicable canine illnesses. At Paw House, we take every precaution to minimize these health and safety risks, but it’s essential for clients to understand some inherent risks involved. Dogs can sometimes be contagious without showing any symptoms, which is why these illnesses can spread quickly. At check-in, we carefully inspect each new guest for ticks and fleas to maintain a safe environment. We require all dogs to be vaccinated and up to date on tick and flea prevention to protect their health and the health of others. Required vaccinations include:

DAPP (or DHPP)

Rabies

Leptospirosis

Bordetella (recommended, though not mandatory)

Does my dog needs to be neutered?

No, we accept both neutered and non-neutered dogs. However, our cage-free setup may not suit every dog, particularly some unneutered males. If we observe signs of aggression or excessive humping, we may separate your dog for their safety and the comfort of the other dogs so they may not get the full cage-free experience.

My female dog is in heat. Can she stay?

We’re unable to accept female dogs that are in heat, as this can cause agitation among other dogs and affect group harmony. If a female dog comes into heat during her stay, we will provide separate accommodations to maintain a calm and safe environment. She’ll be well-cared-for and comfortable until her scheduled pick-up.

What happens if my dog gets sick or has an accident at Paw House?

At Paw House, we have an in-house vet tech to manage minor issues. In our cage-free environment, accidents can happen, so it’s important for pet parents to be aware of this possibility. If your dog becomes ill or has an accident, we’ll do everything we can to contact you promptly. In cases where an injury is caused by another dog, the responsible dog’s owner will cover the veterinary expenses, and we’ll notify both parties right away. If a dog falls ill under our care, owners are typically understanding and assume responsibility for any medical costs. We’re always happy to facilitate your dog’s care by transporting them to our partner vet for prompt attention. In the event that we are unable to reach an owner in an emergency, we exercise the right to bring your dog to veterinary care if we deem necessary.

Can I visit my dog while they are boarding or have a look at the facilities?

For the well-being of the dogs in our care, we limit visitor access inside the facility. Some dogs may experience anxiety around new people, while others might become overly excited, which can lead to conflicts. We invite you to view the facility through our observation windows. If your dog is boarding and you’d like to visit, we’d be happy to bring them outside for a brief visit with you.
